RCCDSB selects permanent vice-principal for Bishop Smith Catholic High School

The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce that Acting Vice-Principal Julie Huckabone was the successful candidate for the Permanent Vice-Principal role at Bishop Smith Catholic High School (BSCHS) in Pembroke.

“Julie brings a broad range of experience to Bishop Smith Catholic High School, including a previous vice-principal assignment,” notes Michele Arbour, RCCDSB Director of Education. “She has done a tremendous job and we are pleased that she has accepted the new position. Her energy and enthusiasm will continue to have a very positive effect on the school community.”

Ms. Huckabone has worked at the RCCDSB since 1997 when she began as a Communication Disorders Facilitator. She is a graduate of Carleton University, received her Bachelor of Education in 2007, and Special Education qualifications in 2009. She served as Safe Schools Coordinator in 2013, as well as Vice-Principal at Our Lady of Sorrows, and was named Acting Vice-Principal at BSCHS in September 2014.

“Bishop Smith is well-known for its strong Catholic culture and sense of community and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the students, staff and parents at the school in this new role,” says Ms. Huckabone.
