OLF student selected for Minister’s Student Advisory Council

For the second time, a Grade 7 student from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Renfrew has been chosen to speak up on behalf of Ontario students.

Foster McIntyre was the only student representing Renfrew County at Queen’s Park in Toronto during the first meeting of the Minister’s Student Advisory Council on Monday, May 7.
He was selected as one of the 60 students from more than 300 applicants for a seat at the Council.

OLF Principal, Jeannie Armstrong describes Foster as someone who is typically very reserved, but very passionate about the arts and public speaking. “I know he would be a great ambassador for our system. “His flair is really in the performance realm and I see him as the perfect person to encourage more support of the arts, which is an important factor for student engagement,” noting that he takes on a CONTINUE READING>>

St. Andrew’s, Killaloe celebrates Catholic Education Week with variety of activities

There was a different activity planned for every day of Catholic Education Week at St. Andrew’s. Pictured here, Father Neville processes with the students, staff and the Travelling Mary statue. Afterwards, everyone prayed the living rosary on the grounds outside the school.

In this photo, Sisters Faustina and Michael Daniel from the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate talk to St. Andrew’s students about what it is like to know the light of Christ. The Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate come from Cambridge, Ontario. Their apostolates are the education of youth, particularly in the field of catechetics, and the care of the elderly and the deprived.
