The grand opening of the Children’s Junction Daycare facility at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Deep River will be held on Thursday, October 29, and the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is inviting the public to attend.
The event, which begins at 1 p.m., will include informal tours of the new facility and refreshments, as well as speeches by partners in the daycare project, including RCCDSB Chair Bob Michaud and local Trustee Dave Howard, Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon and Deep River’s Reeve Glenn Doncaster.
The not-for-profit daycare will provide all-day care to infants and pre-schoolers from Deep River and area, as well as before- and after-school care for children up to age 12, says Sheri Lance, Director of Children’s Junction Daycare.
“We are very happy with our new location,” said Lance. “I want to thank our partners in this project and we look forward to a good relationship with the RCCDSB.”
The daycare, with a capacity for 111 children including St. Mary’s before and after care students, occupies one wing of St. Mary’s School, says Lance, providing five classrooms for daycare activities. Snacks and meals for the children can be prepared by staff in a fully equipped kitchen.
“We are very proud to have a daycare facility in St. Mary’s School here in Deep River,” says RCCDSB Chair Bob Michaud. “The daycare will provide access to high-quality child care, not only for our own Catholic community, but to all residents of the Deep River area. Our Board believes it is important to work with partners in our communities to provide the best possible services to local families.”
