Charlotte Rouleau, Superintendent of Education for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, has been selected as the Executive Director for the Eastern Ontario Catholic Curriculum Corporation (EOCCC), effective September 1st, 2015. She replaces Lorne Keon, current Executive Director of the EOCCC, who is retiring.
Charlotte has been a respected leader in Catholic education as a Superintendent of Education, a role in which she served the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario for 5 years, and has shared her expertise with numerous regional and provincial committees. In particular, her involvement as Chair of the Eastern Ontario Staff Development Network will serve her well in this new appointment. Charlotte stated that: “As Executive Director, I will be ever vigilant to ensure that our Catholic voice is a strong, united one that speaks for, and preserves, the viability of our Catholic education system.”
As a committed Catholic educator for the past 34 years, Charlotte has been an advocate for the right of every student to have high quality education in Catholic schools in CDSBEO and the province. Her fluent bilingualism and continuing work with Aboriginal Education will be two huge benefits she brings to this position. As well, her long-standing involvement in EOCCC through various Committees was noted by the Selection Committee, along with her own extensive career in curriculum development and implementation. Her references were unequivocal in their praise and viewed Charlotte’s appointment to the position as most appropriate.
Under the direction and supervision of the EOCCC Board of Directors, the Executive Director has the responsibility of carrying out the mission of the EOCCC. The EOCCC is committed to the sharing of human and physical resources required for the delivery of curriculum review, development and implementation services and in-service education among the Catholic school boards of Eastern Ontario, along with fostering a collaborative process at the provincial, regional and local levels. The activities, responses and interactions with the partners are always to be animated through the person of Jesus Christ.
