Several senior staff members at the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) will move into new positions next September.
Dave Noble, who has been a Vice-Principal at Bishop Smith Catholic High School (BSCHS), will split his time between two new positions in the fall. He will join the School Effectiveness Framework team, which provides support for school improvement and student success, as well as becoming Principal at St. Anthony’s Catholic Elementary School in Chalk River. Noble joined the RCCDSB in 2005 and received his first vice-principal posting in 2010.
Erik Lemke will replace Noble as Vice-Principal at BSCHS. Lemke, who joined the RCCDSB in 2007, has been working as a Student Work Study Teacher since 2013.
Meanwhile, Randy Bissonnette, Principal at Our Lady of Lourdes in Pembroke, has been seconded to the presidency of the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario for a one-year term. Bissonnette has worked for the RCCDSB since 1989 and has been a Principal with the Board for 16 years. Derek Lennox, Vice-Principal at St. Joseph’s in Arnprior, will be Interim Principal at Our Lady of Lourdes for a one-year term. During that time, Ryan Kranz, who currently teaches at BSCHS, will serve as Acting Vice-Principal at St. Joseph’s.
Elizabeth Burchat will leave her position as .5 Principal of Valleycrest in Renfrew to become half-time Principal at St. John Bosco in Barry’s Bay this fall. Burchat, who has been with the RCCDSB since 1987 and has held several principalships, will continue working half-time on the RCCDSB’s School Effectiveness Framework program.
Julia Graydon, who has worked with RCCDSB since 1999, will move from full-time duties as an Information Technology Special Assignment Teacher, to become a half-time IT teacher and .5 Vice-Principal at St. John Bosco.
Meanwhile, Maureen McHale Enright moves from her position as Principal at George Vanier in Combermere to become Principal at St. James in Eganville. Anne Marie Landon, a teacher at George Vanier since 1998, will become the school’s Acting Principal for a one-year term.
As well, Natalie Marchment, who has been teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes in Pembroke since 2006 and has worked for the RCCDSB since 2004, will move to St. Francis of Assisi in Petawawa to become .5 Vice-Principal and .5 teacher.
Board Chair Bob Michaud says the staff changes planned for September demonstrate RCCDSB’s success in professional development and leadership training. “Our staff has developed a wide range of specialized skills and expertise to meet the changing demands of our Board. My fellow trustees and I are very proud of our leadership team and how they work together to promote the goals of our Catholic-based education system.”
Director of Education Michele Arbour adds, “With these leadership changes, our Board remains focused on goals that will most benefit our students. We have built a leadership team that can meet the challenges of the future with hospitality, innovation and excellence.”
